Safety of zinc l‐carnosine as a Novel food pursuant to Regulation (EU) 2015/2283 and the bioavailability of zinc from this source in the context of Directive 2002/46/EC on food supplements

Following a request from the European Commission, the EFSA Panel on Nutrition, Novel Foods, and Food Allergens was asked to submit an opinion on zinc lu2010carnosine as a novel food under Regulation 2015/2283 and as a zinc source used in food supplements. No reliable data using an existing zinc source as a comparator has been obtained by the applicant, and the applicant's actual bioavailability of the zinc supplied by the NF at the intended use levels remains unidentified. The NF's hazard trial and the applicant's toxicological findings are insufficient to determine the NF's safety.

In‐operando crystallization study of zinc nitrate hexahydrate using zinc oxide nucleators

This work explores nucleators and PCM's interactions with nucleators and PCM using in-u2010operando direct visualization for the first time, to the best of our knowledge, to help understand the crystallization process during freezing of a PCM using zinc nitrate hexahydrate and a zinc oxide nucleator. Consequently, improved nucleation activity was obtained with uniformly distributed small nucleator particles throughout the PCM, as compared to either large or poorly distributed aggregated nucleators for equal amounts of ZnO. As compared to using equal wt% small particle clusters and big particles, respectively, the censor reported a 38 percent and 33 percent lower u2206TSup after using ZnO u2010needle as nucleator, while the nucleator reported a 38 percent and 33 percent smaller wt% lower u2206TSup as compared to using equal wt% small particle clusters and large particles. Additional hair-u2010like ZnO growth was preferentially decorated along the original nucleator particles' lateral faces. Input crystallization studies can help to determine the system's practical thermal energy storage capabilities.

Semi‐immobilized Ionic Liquid Regulator with Fast Kinetics towards Highly Stable Zinc Anode under ‐35°C to 60°C

Aqueous zinc ion batteries have been extensively tested as next-generation rechargeable batteries, offering high theoretical capacity, reliable security, environment friendly, and low cost, among other things. To shield the Zn anode in a wide temperature range from u201035u00b0C to 60 u00b0C, we recommend a method to produce a semi-immobilized ionic liquid interface layer. The free anions of ILs can weaken hydrogen bonding of water to promote rapid Zn2+ desolvation and ramp ion transport kinetics simultaneously, while immobilized SiO2@cation can create high conjugate racks that can control the Zn2+ concentration gradient and self-u2010polarizing electric field to ensure uniform nucleation and planar deposition. The cycling life of the symmetric Zn batteries has been greatly enhanced, as shown by a cycle life of 1800 h at 20 mA cm u20132u202C60, U00b0C60u00b0C-60u00b0C 60-00b0C 60C60u00b0C;u00b0C 60,000 C606c60u00b0C;u00b0C.

Effect of parity on non‐esterified fatty acid, oxidant/antioxidant status, and zinc and copper levels around periparturient period in Beetal goats of Himalayan Region

As the goats approached kidding and continued to kidding in MP and MDA, and 1 week post-u2010kidding in EP goats, a dramatic rise was observed in NEFA and MDA measurements. In MP and LP, and 1 week post-u2010kidding in EP goats, the zincc and copper levels showed a dramatic decline from 3 weeks pre-u2010kidding to 2 weeks post-u2010kidding. In all the measurements, a significant effect of parity was present on MDA, GSH, and GSHu2010Px operations; however, parity u00d7 sampling time interaction was observed. The EP goats are the first to show an increased metabolic and oxidative strain, and first to recover from an oxidant/antioxidant imbalance.
