Obsessive-compulsive disorder

Obsessive-compulsion disorder is a mental health disorder characterized by signs such as obsessions and compulsions. People with OCD generally have anxiety and other difficulties as a result of their inability to satisfy their obsessions or compulsions. About half of the time, OCD becomes apparent in childhood or adolescence, and the majority of other disorders occur in early adulthood. OCD is unusually beginning after age 40. Affected people can experience periods of increase or decrease in severity, but the condition does not go away entirely. Other OCD sufferers have additional mental disorders, such as generalized anxiety, depression, anxiety, phobias, panic attacks, or schizophrenia. OCD can also occur in people with other medical disorders, such as Tourette syndrome and similar disorders, traumatic brain injury, stroke, or dementia.
