The influence of social media on patients’ perception of aesthetic treatment outcome: satisfaction with tattoo removal, a model

This report investigates how much this can influence patient satisfaction with picosecond laser tattoo removal as we have seen the increasing role of social media in influencing patients. PSL was used to treat twenty-seven patients for the removal of a professional black tattoo. Both groups were homogeneous, but patients reported a more subjective Global Aesthetic Improvement Scale than reported by doctors, especially in Group 2, while Group 1 was globally more satisfied.

“For Asia Market Only”: A Green Tattoo Ink between Safety and Regulations

The green tattoo inks Green Concentrate by Eternal, leading to the increase of tattoo usage in Eastern countries and general worry about tattoo ink composition and safety, were evaluated under the assumption that only the former falls under composition control. The solid residues were analyzed by IR and Raman spectroscopies, as well as by GC/mass spectrometry. The relative pigment load and element traces were also estimated. The European and Asian inks are based on the same pigment, PG7, which is limited in Europe, but in different amounts. In addition, the Asian ink contains harmful additives for the solubilization of hydrophobic matrices and by-products of the phthalocyanine synthesis. Teratogenic phthalates, as well as chlorinated teratogenic and carcinogenic compounds often used to the laser treatment for removal purposes are present in the European ink, to a greater degree in the European ink.

Bindi tattoo on forehead: Success with modified R-20 technique using low fluence Q-switched Nd YAG laser: A case report

A Bindi tattoo on the forehead is one of the Indian women from rural areas' cultural customs. The R-20 procedure seems to be an efficient method of tattoo removal, and it could be a boon for patients who are reluctant to pursue laser therapy due to fear of spending, side effects, and uncertainty about result. On the forehead, we report the success of R-20 treatment for a bindi tattoo.

Operative treatment of severe allergic reactions to red tattoo dye: Presentation and comparison of possible surgical procedures in seven patients

Inflammatory Reactions to Red Tattoo Inks: Three cases highlighting an emerging problem

Tattoos have become more popular in recent years. Tattoo-related inflammatory reactions can include acute and immediate reactions, foreign body granulomas, sarcoid granulomas, isomorphic lesions, allergic contact dermatitis, and photosensitivity. We report three cases that were referred to the Dermatology Outpatient Clinic of the Hospital Universitario San Cecilio, Granada, Spain, in 2017 with varying skin reactions in the red-ink areas of their tattoos. For the therapeutic treatment of this emerging health issue, an appropriate differential diagnosis is required.

Using double attention for text tattoo localisation

Previous tattoo research used advanced object detectors to find general tattoos, but none of them considered text tattoo localization because they are usually inside or nearby larger tattoos and appear only on human skin. Prioritizing this prior knowledge, a prior knowledge-based attention system, and a network based on Double Attention are both suggested. For this research, NTU Tattoo V2, the most comprehensive tattoo database, and NTU Text Tattoo V1, the largest text tattoo database, are developed.

Quantitative evaluation of enhanced laser tattoo removal by skin optical clearing

Skin's optical clearing agent (introduced optical clear agent into skin) has seen some improvement in the appearance of laser tattoo removal. The pigment removal rate was determined using the skin evaluation device used to determine tattoo pigment's contents before and after laser therapy, and then the bleeding rate of pigment was determined. In addition, the Monte Carlo method was used to simulate the effects of skin optical clarity on light transmission in a tattoo skin model. The pigment change of tattoo areas as a result of both OCA plus laser and single laser treatment was found to be increased by 1. 5-fold. Both experimental and theoretical studies can show that skin optical clearing technique can improve laser tattoo removal, which can be helpful for clinical laser tattoo removal and other laser pigment elimination, as shown by the results.

Feasibility of surface guided radiotherapy for patient positioning in breast radiotherapy versus conventional tattoo-based setups- a systematic review

This study was designed to compare the efficiency and reproducibility of SGRT in free-breathing breast radiotherapy, as well as determining if SGRT can reduce the frequency of routine image guided radiotherapy. Result: A review of 13 full papers shows that SGRT enhances the consistency and reproducibility of patient preparation in breast radiotherapy, which has resulted in steady declines in residual errors. Conclusion: SGRT seems to have enhanced the consistency and reproducibility of patient preparation and treatment effectiveness of breast radiotherapy in comparison to a more traditional tattoo/laser-based approach, with the ability to minimize the frequency of routine IGRT.

Identification of organic pigments in tattoo inks and permanent make-ups using MALDI-TOF mass spectrometry [version 1; referees: 2 approved]

Increasing consumer safety concerns regarding customer safety led to legal restrictions on tattoo inks and permanent make-up inks. Both ink styles use organic pigments for color-giving, as well as inorganic pigments for white and black, and colour tones. Pigment analysis of 396 tattoo inks and 55 PMUs taken from the Swiss market between 2009 and 2017 revealed the following conclusions: Pigment variation in tattoo inks is much higher in tattoo inks than in PMUs; four outlaw pigments were discovered in both ink types; for PMUs, these four pigments made up 12% of the pigment samples, relative to 32% for tattoo inks.
