AB1445 SYNOVIAL FLUID ANALYSIS IN HOT SWOLLEN JOINTS – A QUALITY IMPROVEMENT PROJECT

Objectives 1 The goal of this quality improvement initiative was to 1 identify the number of synovial fluid samples that were not tested for crystals; 2 make continual assessments to increase this process. Methods of Studying Retrospective study of synovial fluid analysis for adult patients with swollen joints for a six month period. Crystals were analyzed in all 106 synovial fluid samples between March and August 2021, of which only 69 percent of the samples were tested for crystals. When a synovial fluid is collected, two versions are developed, one for microbiology microscopy and culture and the other for cytology crystal analysis, according to a bundle reflex test. Patients with acute crystal arthritis can be treated in a timely manner by enforcing these changes and raising concerns.

POS1185 PERFORMANCE OF ADENOSIN DEAMINASE ACTIVITY IN SYNOVIAL FLUID FOR THE EARLY DIAGNOSIS OF TUBERCULOUS ARTHRITIS: A META-ANALYSIS

However, the results of ADA involvement in synovial fluid for the diagnosis of tuberculous arthritis have been less discussed. Objects: To diagnosis tuberculous artrhritis, the aim is to examine the results of ADA in synovial fluid. Methods We studied Medline and EMBASE from the establishment of the inception to October 2021 and the American College of Rheumatology and European League Against Rheumatism for conference abstracts to determine the ADA activity in synovial fluid relative to a composite reference model for early diagnosis tuberculous arthritis. Result 7 independent studies that compared ADA use in synovial fluids with the composite reference standard were included. Compared to the composite reference standard, respectively, the pooled sensitivity and specificity of ADA treatment was 0. 939 and 0. 885. Odds Ratio, a pooled diagnostic Odds Ratio model, was 74. 582. Conclusion Measuring adenosine deaminase activity in synovial fluid reveals promising results for early diagnosis joint tuberculosis.
