Extraction of physicochemical properties from the fluorescence spectrum with 1D convolutional neural networks: Application to olive oil

The ability to monitor oil quality regularly throughout the production cycle is one of the key challenges for olive oil producers. The proposed technique is based on fluorescence spectroscopy and one-dimensional convolutional neural networks and allows for the identification of five chemical quality indicators of olive oil from a single fluorescence spectrum obtained with a simple measurement using a low-cost portable fluorescence sensor. This will make continuous quality monitoring of olive oil during and after the entire production cycle a reality.

Changes in the spectrum of kidney diseases: a survey of 2803 patients from 2010 to 2018 at a single center in southeastern China.

Primary glomerular disease was the leading cause of chronic kidney disease in China; however, changes in the economy and environment also created variations in the spectrum of kidney disease. This study was designed to analyze renal biopsy results to inform disease prevention and public health interventions. Data from 2,803 consecutive renal biopsies collected at our center between January 2010 and December 2018 were reviewed in this retrospective cohort study. The incidence of iMN increased among PGN cases, particularly among those aged u2265-60 years old during the observation period. Contrary to iMN's case, the percentage of IgAN in PGN decreased, gradually, and at length. SGN curves were dramatically altered by a ratio reversal of infectious disease and chronic disease. The incidence of hepatitis B-related nephritis has gradually decreased in the last year, although the number of DN among SGN has steadily increased. The number of DN in SGN cases has risen.

In situ synthesis of cuprous oxide on cotton fiber for developing functional textile with broad-spectrum antibacterial activity

The immobilization of cuprous oxide onto cotton fabric is a promising technique for develpoing organic-inorganic hybrid textiles. A novel strategy for rapid in-situ synthesis of Cu2082O particles on cotton fibers was suggested by Herein, aiming for the development of an antibacterial nanolayer on the micro-dissolved cotton fiber surface. With glucose reduction, the Cu2082O particles could be produced on the cotton fiber surface in the instantaneous high temperature of polydimethylsiloxane.

Soil-moisture-index spectrum reconstruction improves partial least squares regression of spectral analysis of soil organic carbon

Accurate remote measurement of the soil organic carbon content can be useful for site-specific soil management and precision agriculture. The aim of this research was to determine if the soil-moisture-index spectrum reconstruction procedure, as well as the partial least squares regression software, could increase SOC estimation accuracy by minimizing the effect of soil moisture. To produce the most suitable model for use in the SSR-PLSR method, the best model for use in the SSR-PLSR method was used, with normalized difference soil moisture index. The SSR-PLSR method has a lot of potential for increasing the accuracy of SOC estimates and is a new quantitative soil spectroscopy device.

Expanding the genetic spectrum of tooth agenesis using whole-exome sequencing.

Tooth agenesis is a high genetic heterogeneous condition with more than eighty genes identified as related to molecular causes. Methods We performed whole-exome sequencing in 131 tooth agenesis patients with no previously reported molecular diagnosis. Results Seventy-three patients with tooth agenesis were genetically diagnosed in 131 unrelated Chinese patients with tooth agenesis, including 58% in the non-syndromic tooth agenesis group and 60% in the syndromic tooth agenesis group, with a positive molecular diagnostic rate of 56. 7 percent, including 53. 8%, and 60% in the syndromic tooth agenesis group.
