Visual Mechanisms of Intermediate Distance Space Perception During Self-motion

In addition, the long-term goal of this research is to determine the mechanisms that support distance perception. More information about the underlying causes of intermediate distance space perception compared to those of near space perception is unknown. This project hypothesizes how the visual system can solve both challenges by: spatially updating the observer's position and using spatial coordinate systems for representing visual space; and spatially mapping spatial data during spatial upgrading. Aim 1: Investigate the factors that influence visual space's spatial updating. Aim 2: Investigate the causes affecting visual space perception's spatial updating. Aim 3: Investigate human behavior in the real 3D environment. While planning and/or executing self-motion, the investigators will examine human observers' ability to assess target locations in impoverished visual environments under various circumstances, such as manipulating the observers' cognitive load or available graphic and idiothetic data. The findings of this research will advance the space perception literature, bridge theoretical insights of visual space perception and memory-directed navigation, as well as reveal the presence of vestibular and somatosensory signals. In turn, the theoretical advances have provided insight into intermediate distance space perception related to eye and vision impairments, as well as their impacts on mobility in the real 3D environment.

A Real Word Study to Evaluate the Safety and Performance of SpaceOAR System When Used to Create Space Between the Rectum and Prostate in Men Undergoing Radiotherapy for Localized T1-T2 Prostate Cancer in China

The data at baseline and the day of surgery will be retrospectively collected for those patients who have already received the SpaceOAR therapy before the study kick-off. For the real world study, up to 20 patients with a pathologically confirmed diagnosis of clinical stage T1 or T2 prostate cancer indicated for radiotherapy will be enrolled, but there are risks of missing data.
