The effect of medical innovation on the cost-effectiveness of Covid 19-related policies in the United States using a SIR model

The aim of this report was to determine the Incremental Cost Effectiveness Ratio for three key Covid-19 initiatives: NMIs, vaccine design and deployment, as well as pharmaceutical and healthcare reforms within the hospital setting. Analysing the Effect of Test-and-Trace Strategy in an SIR Epidemic Model.

Consider a Markovian SIR epidemic model in a homogeneous neighborhood. To this approach, we have a rate at which individuals are screened, and if an infectious individual tests positive, it is isolated, and each of their contacts are followed and tested independently with some definite certainty. If such a traced individual tests positive it is isolated, the contact tracing is extended. This model is developed using large population approximations, both for the early stages of the epidemic, when the To-be-traced components' of the disease behaves like a branching process, and for the primary stage of the epidemic, where the process of to-be traced components converges to a deterministic process characterized by a system of differential equations, converges to a deterministic process. Surprisingly, the reproduction number for the component's branching process is not declining in the tracing probability, but the individual reproduction number is expected to be monotonous as predicted.
