An Overview of Modeling Spatial Relationships in Site Layout Planning Literature

The effective placement of temporary facilities in construction sites is based on site layout planning studies. One of those dimensions is spatial relationships modeling, where planning goals are turned into concrete mathematical equations, which involves proximity or farness relationships between temporary facilities. This paper explores how spatial relationships have been modelled in the literature, based on 66 newly published optimization models that included closeness as a spatial relationship. This review paper will encourage future researchers to use spatial data in site layout planning models more effectively to achieve planning goals and objectives. The achievement of planning goals such as efficiency, safety, security, and functionality will contribute to more realistic site layouts for the industry, where planning goals, objectives, and spatial relationships support address the complex and dynamic requirements of building site layout planning.

As the work conducted from home was perceived as a positive result, the number of individuals who intend to have a hybrid style of work in a post-pandemic context was bolstered by ICT, telework. The connection between ICT and Telework supports the concept of a smart workplace. Even as promoting human interactions, a smart workplace is a sustainable and inclusive environment in which the on-site workforce blends with the remote one, bringing security, fitness, convenience, and wellbeing to users. From the design of work to the characteristics of the workplace, all need to be reimagined and re-designed to ensure a positive user experience.

Deep Learning to Improve Construction Site Management Tasks

This paper reviews the current state of deep learning in construction management jobs in order to enable researchers to determine the capabilities of existing solutions and identify research gaps in order to close identified knowledge and practice gaps. Four main uses of deep learning in construction management include automating progress monitoring, automating safety inspections, governing construction machinery, and integrating IoT with deep learning to gather data automatically. The thematic and gap analysis refers to many successful cases of deep learning in automating website management tasks. This article is the first to implement a structured approach to assess deep learning-based construction site management applications in order to encourage researchers/practitioners to either use these applications in their research or conduct more to expand existing knowledge and eliminate undefeated knowledge gaps.

Site-Specific Defect Detection in Composite Using Solitary Waves Based on Deep Learning

We offer a real-time non-destructive evaluation method for defect detection in composites using primarily nonlinear solitary waves and a deep learning algorithm based on the convolution neural network based on the convolution neural network. To collect HNSW data for education and validation of the deep learning algorithm, AS4/PEEK composite specimens with artificial delamination are manufactured, and HNSW datasets are created from the experimental setup of a granular crystal sensor.

According to the journal, off-site construction using factory-built parts and efficient manufacturing processes could help to solve this issue by increasing productivity and project quality. Off-site manufacturing in construction is one way to raise productivity, but there is currently no data relating it to the concept of designing for manufacturing and assembly. Building information modeling also gives new opportunities to support the computerized planning and fabrication of industrialized buildings, resulting in increased efficiency and cost-effectiveness. Construction efficiency is often recommended when combined with BIM and off-site construction to maximize their benefits to the building industry and their applications. However, even if the link between BIM and off-site construction has been identified and discussed among pioneer researchers, gaps were discovered in the literature on the integration of BIM and digital fabrication with off-site manufacturing in construction. Comparative Analysis of SSR and HVSR Method for Site Response Analysis

The Northeast area of India is included within seismic Zone V, the country's highest seismic zone. Vertical Spectral Ratio and Horizontal Ratio are two different site response analysis techniques; Irrespective of the availability of the seismic data this study aims to decsribing the two site response analysis methods: Standard Spectral Ratio and Horizontal Ratio In this report for the SSR and HVSR techniques respectively, earthquake events were recorded in both earthquake and tsunami data. The steady movement in Nongstoin has been used as a benchmark site station record for the SSR study, thanks to the strong wind. This finding supports Field and Jacob's findings that if the SSR estimates are taken as the most reliable, the HVSR method under predicts the site's response.
