Evaluating the impact of naloxone dispensation at public health vending machines in Clark County, Nevada.

Introduction Implementing public health vending machines is an evidence-based method for minimizing substance use-associated morbidity and mortality by the dispensation of essential ingredients to people who use medications, including overdose prevention resources. Methods: Monthly counts of opioid-involved overdose deaths in Clark County residents from January 2015 to December 2020 were used to create an autoregressive integrated moving averages model to measure the effect of naloxone dispensation at PHVMs. We estimated the number of potential opioid-involved overdose deaths at PHVMs in comparison to monthly figures, rather than estimated figures. The COVID-19 pandemic has exacerbated the overdose crisis, with immediate decreases in opioid-involved overdose fatalities.

Preconception care practices among primary health care nurses working in public health facilities in KwaZulu-Natal.

Alternatively, PCC may be able to assist those with no pregnancy intention. Primary healthcare nurses in South Africa provide a complete range of essential services in public health care to nearly 90% of the population at no cost. This research was designed to determine the prevalence of PCC use among primary healthcare nurses and identify determinants of efficient practice. Methods This cross-sectional descriptive survey was conducted among 196 nurses participating in a chosen higher education institution investigating a specialisation Primary HealthCare program. Female participants were also less likely to have good PCC policies than their male counterparts. Participants in rural areas were also less likely to have good PCC policies than their urban counterparts. Conclusion The PCC use of the majority of primary healthcare nurses in the study is relatively poor. The report also identified the determinants of good PCC training that can help with its research.

Traditional dishes, online tools, and public engagement: A feasible and scalable method to evaluate local recipes on nutritional content, sustainability, and health risks. Insight from Abruzzo, Italy

A food composition review of traditional dishes may help identify populations' dietary habits and affiliation with observed diseases in the United States. Through the Healthy Meals web app, food allergen information was determined. The nutritional profile of dishes varies depending on the ingredients type and amount. Our findings contribute to the enrichment of the Italian compiled Food Composition Database, which includes the ability to determine local dietary habits by a simple-attainable strategy, alert consumers of dietary risks, and lead them to a great deal of confusion.

Medical educators' perspectives on the barriers and enablers of teaching public health in the undergraduate medical schools: a systematic review.

Background Medical doctors who are preparing medical doctors for emerging health problems and increased public health roles are relying on current public health information in the undergraduate medical curriculum. Objective This systematic review synthes the most recent and up-to-date information on medical educators' views on including public health education in the undergraduate medical curriculum. The article was included if they were available in full-text English or Indonesian language, peer-reviewed, and focused on medical educators' perspectives on teaching public health in the undergraduate medical curricula. Overcrowded curricula, a lack of consensus about the scope and extent of public health to incorporate into teaching, a lack of funding for teaching public health are all major challenges in teaching public health to medical students. Conclusions Integration of public health into other areas is mostly seen as a solution.

Tracking involvement over time: a longitudinal study of experiences among refugee parents involved as public contributors in health research.

Although PPI literature is increasingly focused on research based on analysis, a focus on the contributors is less common. Over three years, this report examined the experiences of four refugee parents involved as public contributors in a child mental health investigation. Results The reasons for being involved changed from focusing on individual rights to social change, which led to societal change. Parents saw researchers as the owners of the study, which led to a discrepancy in how parents and researchers felt involved was identified.

Addressing adolescent substance use with a public health prevention framework: the case for harm reduction.

The initiation of drug use has also been attributed to risk-taking. Because drug use often begins in adolescence, a lot of attention has been put on primary prevention with the aim of minimizing initial substance use. Secondary or tertiary prevention strategies, such as counseling to reduce opioid use or providing treatment, are common tactics for adolescents with a substance use disorder or a substance use disorder. This report seeks to identify methods for incorporating harm reduction principles in clinical settings that are developmentally appropriate. This report details how harm reduction strategies tailored to adolescents can be used to quantify perceived benefits of drug use, include risk reduction recommendations, and encourage decrease of use and abstinence for adolescents with a problematic substance use disorder or a substance use disorder.

A systematic analysis of and recommendations for public health events involving brucellosis from 2006 to 2019 in China.

Brucellosis, a common public health issue in China, is a significant public health issue. Based on the published literatures, we performed a systematic review of bruxi lab infection and vaccination events in China from 2006 to 2019. Several laboratory Brucella infections in hospitals were discovered in hospitals in Southern China, according to our study. The primary risk factor was the identification and handling of suspected samples of Brucella infection without following the recommended biosafety precautions. However, cluster S2 vaccine strain infection outbreaks in Northern China primarily occurred due to vaccination and production.

Governance systems for skilled health worker migration, their public value and competing priorities: an interpretive scoping review.

Background governments in the United States participate in skilled health worker migration agreements to ensure access to health care in their countries. Methods We conducted a systematic scoping review of health information and grey literature. We summarized the public value propositions in migration deals and how state actors responded to competing priorities using Mark Moore and Colin Talbot frameworks. Most articles featured transnational SHW mobility as the public value proposition for origin and destination countries, according to the majority of studies. As shared public interests, the two shorter articles, 14 and 9, respectively, referred to increasing health worker sustainability and strengthening SHW migration infrastructure as shared public values. The most notable competing public value in destination countries was an overriding focus on combating SHW shortages. It also shows how the value-creating process in SHW migration policy favors destination countries. Future studies will need to investigate shared value creation strategies that ensure fairness in SHW migration's administration.
