A Reappraisal of Oxandrolone in Burn Management.

Object: Burn injuries are still one of the most common traumatic injuries worldwide. Several studies have shown that the steroid oxandrolone promotes burn injuries by increasing anabolic and reducing catabolic processes. We explore the effectiveness and use of oxandrolone in relation to burn prevention and treatment in this report. Results: "oxandrolone, protein, and bone mineral mass of burn patients are among the key benefits of oxandrolone. "Oxandrolone" and "burns" are among the keywords included in our search strategy for PubMed's search results. Oxandrolone remains an effective treatment for reducing hypermetabolic response and comorbidities as a result of burn injuries. To determine whether oxandrolone in the context of rehabilitation services will reduce mortality, lower healthcare costs, and improve function outcomes among burn patients, future clinical trials are required using larger sample sizes and long-term follow-up.
