In this study, S-DAMO dynamics were investigated by examining the CH 4 oxidation rates in different CH 4 / SO 4 2-counter-gradients. According to Phylogenetic Investigation of Communities by Reconstruction of Unobserved States findings, S-DAMO's metabolic pathway was predicted as the reverse methanogen pathway, based on methanol, while methanogenesis was the methyl nutrition approach based on methanol. The methane metabolic pathway and the sulfur metabolic pathway were plotted by enzymes related to the carbon and sulfur cycles and their relative abundances in the microcosms.
