ω-Unsaturated methacrylic oligomers created by catalytic chain transfer polymerisation of methyl methacrylate and methacrylic acid are used as reagents in the extreme polymerization of ethylene in dimethyl carbonate solvent under relatively mild problems. Kinetic measurements and analyses of the generated copolymers by dimension exclusion chromatography and a combination of nuclear magnetic vibration strategies show that MMA n is associated with a degradative chain transfer process leading to the development of n - b -PE block copolymers.
