The confinement media is comprised of controlled pore glass and ordered mesoporous carbon with pore sizes ranging from 3 to 8 nm. The proliferation of CPG is increasing as pore size decreases and is proportional to the surface silanol content, while carbon mesopore diameters decrease with reciprocal pore diameter. We also investigate the thermodynamics of nanoconfined polymerization and find that the entropy loss due to confinement of chains scales with molecular weight to the first power was significant, consistent with theoretical predictions for the weak confinement regime.
We investigated the effects of salt addition on a diblock copolymer system with a negative Flory-Huggins interaction parameter, demonstrating interesting interactions between the two blocks. PEO-PMMA and PEO-PMMA are two asymmetric PEO-PMMA block copolymers, PEO-PMMA and PEO-PMMA, where the figures refer to the molar masses of the blocks in kg mol-1/1.
