The linear accelerator parts were used to develop standards for the disposal of the linear accelerator, and, based on these results, radionuclide and radioactivity concentrations increased over time were estimated using Monte Carlo codes, namely, PHITS code and DCHAIN. After the shutdown of the equipment, the radioactivity concentration decreased over time after the conversion of the Siemens linear accelerator changed from short-life nuclides to long-life nuclides, resulting in a decrease in the radioactivity concentration over time.

The Purpose Tumor motion is a significant issue in stereotactic ablative body radiotherapy for non-small cell lung cancer, causing excessive radiation to compensate for this phenomenon. This research sought to investigate the risks and benefits of MR-Linac in SABR for lung tumor therapy. Overall, 41 patients with NSCLC treated with SABR using MR-Linac between March 2019 and December 2021 were included, as were 41 patients with NSCLC treated with SABR using MR-Linac between March 2019 and December 2021. For comparison, 40 patients treated with SABR using computed tomography-based modalities were also enrolled. There was no significant difference in the gross tumor volume between the MR and CT groups, but the planning target volume was much smaller in the MR group. Conclusion Lung SABR with MR-Linac can reduce the radiation field without compromising the local control rate.

The rapid increase in the use of medical radiation and technological advancements aimed at achieving high-performance and high-precision radiotherapy necessitates the analysis of existing technologies and the establishment of regulatory frameworks for the safe use of medical radiation. We conducted a national postal dosimetry audit of clinical radiotherapy's output dose and mechanical stability between 2017 and 2020, which was based on the output dose and mechanical stability of photon beams from 92 institutions in this study.
