P. aeruginosa's competitive advantage over S. aurus is reduced by subinhibitory levofloxacin concentrations on the other hand, by limiting the expansion and the las QS scheme of P. aeruginosa. To defeat S. aurum, P. aeruginosa's pqs signaling can be triggered instead. This research contributes to understanding the behavior of P. aeruginosa and S. aureus during antibiotic therapy, providing a key basis for investigating polymicrobial infections. Here, we investigated the relationship between cocultured P. aeruginosa and S. aureus with the use of commonly used antibiotics in clinic. We found that by modifying P. aeruginosa QS policy to increase the production of antistaphylococcal metabolites in different ways, we were able to select P. aeruginosa in coculture with S. aubus. This research emphasizes the role of the QS system in the evolution of P. aeruginosa and other bacterial species in patients following antibiotic therapy, as well as a suggestion for further clinical therapy.
