Female Ross 308 chicks were re-introduced into an open-type chicken house. Half chicks bred only with a commercial compound feed, and the remainder were raised on a diet that was containing lactic acid bacteria for the same commercially available compound feed. The feed additive that contained lactic acid bacteria used in this research purified seaweed sediments obtained from strata tens of thousands of years ago near the Ariake Sea, including rice bran, bamboo flour, and molasses, fermenting, adding Lactobacillus gasseri, culturing, and drying.
