Prior research showed that informational telenovelas had a positive impact on Latino family caregivers' views toward end-of-life care services. Videos in hospice and palliative care have shown a great deal, underscoring the videos as a means of education for caregivers that may help caregiver's improve caregiver's self-efficacy, decrease caregiver's anxiety, and reduce burnout. To Care, a charity based on extensive preliminary work, chronicles one hospice family's journey as the family struggles with the hospice decision, pain management, decision-making, and ultimately the dying process. The overall intention is that NOVELA will raise self-confidence, thus reducing anxiety among hospice family caregivers. This project's objective is to pilot test the possibility and acceptability of integrating NOVELA with hospice care for family caregivers of hospice patients of hospice care. Specific Aim 1: To investigate the preliminary effectiveness of integrating NOVELA with hospice services for family caregivers of hospice patients. Specific Aim 2: To analyze the preliminary effectiveness of integrating NOVELA with hospice services for hospice caregivers of hospice patients.
