Objective : To determine the effects of 6-week isokinetic and isotonic training programmes on heart rate and blood pressure in high school students. The isotonic ones, which were spaced by 30-s intermissions, were the longest of three sets of 20-s extension/flexions at 180°b0/s, while the restotropic ones were deployed by 30-s intermissions, were composed of four sets of extensions at 50% of the predetermined one repetition maximum, spaced by 30-s intermissions. The findings may have practical implications for athletes and health professionals who administer openchain resistance exercises. ".
