The work is devoted to the development of fuzzy semantics of spatial representations in natural language and their visualization in a geographic information system. It's proposed that an approach to the problem of determining the uncertain geographic location of an object based on vague descriptions of the observer in natural language is considered. The object's spatial location can be more defined in the text message, according to the object's semantics. An example of membership functions for linguistic variables is given. The spatial knowledge base is constructed on the basis of observer's words and their corresponding fuzzy regions. Algorithms for establishing cognitive regions in GIS have been developed. It's considered an example of the development of a fuzzy model for identifying cognitive regions based on fuzzy reports of several observers, which were carried out in ArcGIS 10. 5.
