Disordered Eating and Body Dissatisfaction in Transgender and Gender-Expansive Adults: An Evaluation and Integration of the Gender Minority Stress and Resilience and Tripartite Influence Models.

We compared the ability of TGE-specific factors in the gender minority stress and resilience model, general psychological factors included in the tripartite influence model, and an extension of these frameworks to explain body dissatisfaction and disordered eating among TGE people in TGE countries in the study gap. In a poll of 93 U. S. TGE adults, including 43 transgender women respondents and 31 transgender men respondents, regression experiments were conducted to see the models' ability to explain results reported. Except for the association between body dissatisfaction and the thinness-oriented TI model, both models' abilities were shown to explain body dissatisfaction and disordered eating alone, except for the relationship between body dissatisfaction and the thinness-oriented TI model. Body dissatisfaction with disordered eating was not well illustrated by the TI model, and increased gender pride was related to more disordered eating symptoms.
