Due to its multifunctional use for animal feed and human food, Cultivated oat is a popular cereal grown worldwide. Transposon-based genome analysis has been used to identify and analyze gene expression in large genome cereals. Using the biolistic delivery method, the aim was to create gene tagging and gene editing services for oat, maize Activator, and Dissociation transposons. The Ds-tagged sites in the oat genome have been identified by ten unique flanking sequences. In oat, this Ac/Ds transposon-based gene tagging technique could help facilitate and expedite functional genomic studies.
