Nexus between fossil fuel consumption and infant mortality rate: a non-linear analysis

Fossil fuel energy use is deteriorating living conditions in countries that are already suffering from environmental issues. This research, published in the field of environment and development, explores the consequences of fossil fuel use on the infant mortality rate in 15 Asian countries between 1996 and 2019. The findings reveal that fossil fuel energy use is primarily responsible for infant mortality in the United States. The study concludes that fossil fuel use led to a U-shaped relationship that defined infant mortality.

Comparing energy efficiency and price policy from a sustainable development perspective: Using fossil fuel demand elasticities in Iran

The price elasticity of fossil fuel demand is lower than one and inelastic, according to the customer. In lowering fossil fuel consumption, the price structure is ineffective. The technology elasticity of fossil fuel demand is more pronounced than one and elastic. Energy conservation initiatives are much more cost-effective than price reduction schemes for lowering fossil fuel consumption. This report seeks to compare the effects of price policy with energy conservation and sustainable development. Using Dynamic Log-Linear and AutoRegression Distributed Lag in Iran during 1976–2017, we find the demand elasticities of diesel, gasoline, fuel oil, LPG, and kerosene. To this end, our analysis shows the demand elasticities of diesel, gasoline, fuel oil, LPG, and kerosene. In 2018, Iran came in first place in the world for the amount of subsidies on various types of fossil fuels.
