Pain, Fatigue, Nausea, and Vomiting as the Predictors of Anxiety in Patients Undergoing Hematopoietic Stem Cell Transplantation: A Prospective Cohort Study

"The secondary outcome was to determine the predictive roles of pain, exhaustion, nausea, and vomiting in anxiety among patients undergoing Hematopoietic Stem Cell Transplantation. " Patients treated by HSCT were referred to the centers affiliated to Shiraz University of Medical Sciences, according to the present prospective cohort study. The study revealed that the participants with higher pain and exhaustion scores had higher anxiety levels. Many with more nausea and vomiting had elevated anxiety levels as well. The findings also revealed the predictor role of pain, exhaustion, and the type of HSCT in state anxiety. The results revealed a correlation between anxiety and pain, exhaustion, nausea, and vomiting in the HSCT patients. The findings also revealed exhaustion and pain as predictors of anxiety among these patients. Despite this, future research is also needed to determine the other factors contributing to anxiety amongst HSCT patients.

Effectiveness of exercise training on cancer-related fatigue in colorectal cancer survivors: a systematic review and meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials
