Construction Cost Prediction of Transmission Line Engineering Under the Background of Big Data

Transmission line engineering has a large variety of areas and many unknown causes, which have contributed to major difficulties in the design, construction, and operation of transmission lines. Transmission line engineering's cost control is very important. The cost estimation is a critical link in cost control. This paper examines transmission line construction cost estimates as the research object, using the multiple regression analysis method.

Smart Fiber-Based Sensor Systems for Hydraulic Engineering

Depending on the application, the use of advanced fiber-based sensor systems to detect undetectable damage can minimize substantial financial loss. The owners of hydraulic structures can continually monitor the condition of the structures and calculate extrapolations for required maintenance by using smart fiber-based sensor systems. In addition, the use of intelligent sensor technologies has increased the efficiency-based design and operation of hydraulic structures, enabling performance-based engineering and operation of hydraulic structures, since sensor technology can be used to collect data about the structure's health and actual load cases.

Role of Artificial Intelligence in Energy and Power Engineering

The energy issue has been a significant source of worry in many countries for the past decade, and the use of renewable energy has risen globally. The wind speed forecast balances both the energy needed and the energy generated. Accurate forecasting of power demand and price is considered as one of the most important research topics in electrical engineering in the present and future, with academics focusing on demand and price prediction in deregulated markets. This paper discusses machine learning in energy and power engineering. Machine learning is also used in this article.

Opportunities and Challenges of Artificial Intelligence Education in Secondary Vocational Schools Under the Background of Emerging Engineering

Secondary vocational schools are the cradle of producing applied technological skills and high-quality employees, and the objectives and content of training should closely follow the trend of social media and industry. However, artificial intelligence instruction in secondary vocational schools is still in the experimental phase. This paper explores the benefits and challenges of artificial intelligence education in secondary vocational schools in our country's second vocational schools, as part of emerging technology.

Image Content Analysis of Perceived Race and Gender on Websites of Top Accredited Engineering Schools in Canada

The investigation looked at the apparent gender and race present in website photographs of selected post-secondary institutions with accredited engineering programs. This finding highlights the lack of emphasis on racial representation in marketing literature and results in inaccurate representations of the engineering student population's racial diversity. The findings are intended to inform future qualitative studies into how youths of equity-seeking organizations think about engineering and other STEM fields.

Analysis of Value Mining of Engineering Digital Information Based on BIM-DATA

The integration of BIM technology and big data models has broad application opportunities in engineering digital information management. The value of engineering data information management analysis is evaluated based on the large amount of historical engineering data collected by the BIM digital platform. This paper introduces a value mining technique for engineering digital information extraction based on BIM massive data, a benchmark for discovering the true value of engineering knowledge, and provides a blueprint for the introduction of engineering data twinning and digital management.

Problem-Based Learning for Undergraduate Civil Engineering Education in South Africa- a Methodological Approach

Civil engineering graduates must be able to solve socioeconomic, environmental, and engineering problems as well as engineering problems. Arguments have appeared that Problem Based Learning in engineering education in general and particularly in civil engineering could help students engage in learning effectively and become competent. However, PBL in engineering or civil engineering education in South Africa is not widespread. The research sought to establish a methodological framework in order to ensure that PBL can be successfully implemented and delivered in undergraduate civil engineering education in South Africa's universities. The research focused on the action learning research framework and perceptions of various stakeholders that participated in PBL programs. Findings indicate that five sequential steps in each stage will help with the efficient and successful introduction of the PBL and learning outcomes.

Earthquake Engineering and Technology

The first seismology perspective is given by describing plate tectonics and its numerical estimation along with applications. On describing seismic waves and their propagation from a medium, the causes of earthquake in the Himalayan subduction zone are discussed. The discussion of infrastructure resilience pave the way for earthquake disaster response. Consequently, ongoing attempts in establishing a performance-based seismic analysis have been expanded upon. Following this, several of the latest dynamic response modification services have been shown in greater detail, including different types of dampers, tuned mass dampers, seismic base isolation systems, and new seismic protection techniques. This chapter includes both structural control algorithms and recent techniques thereof, in the case of the semi-active control systems. For students and researchers, the need for future earthquake engineering research has been highlighted.

Is Critical Thinking a Skill or a Way to Develop Skills? An Overview in Engineering Education

Critical thinking development is one of the most highly valued skills for higher education in Engineering, and it is one of the most desirable areas for higher education in Engineering. For the change to the workplace, critical thinking skills have a huge role in developing personal and professional competencies. Also, critical thinking begins to play a crucial role when students begin their professional engineering careers. According to some studies, campus culture and out-of-class experiences could play a role in critical thinking's growth.
