Background: Previous studies have reported that Korean red ginseng extract has antipruritic properties, which can be attributed to the presence of Rg3, one of the most potent ginsenosides. The present research was conducted to determine the role of Rg3EKRG in acute chloroquine-induced and persistent dry skin pruritus. Methods: Calcium imaging technique was applied in HE293T cells expressing MrgprA3 and TRPA1 as well as in primary cultures of mouse dorsal root ganglia neurons. On dry skin samples, mouse scratching behavior experiments were carried out. MrgprA3 gene expressions increased mRNA levels, and Rg3EKRG therapy improved persistent dry skin inflammation conditions and reduced spontaneous scratching behavior, which was evidently. Conclusion: The results of the present study indicate that Rg3EKRG has a greater anti-inflammatory response than KRG, reducing acute CQ-induced and chronic dry skin pruritus in a MrgprA3-dependent manner.

Psoriasis is a chronic skin disease with a pathogenesis involving the interleukin-23/interleukin-17 axis. No research has been published on the anti-psoriatic effects of salvianolic acid B. We sought to identify the optimum route for salvianolic acid B, investigate its clinical use on psoriatic-like skin disorders, and investigate its underlying mechanisms of action in this research. The results revealed that salvianolic acid B-containing microemulsion reduced disease risk, reduced acanthosis, and reduced interleukin-17/interleukin-17 cytokines, epidermal proliferation, and skin hydration. According to our analysis, salvianolic acid B is a promising new therapeutic drug for the treatment of psoriasis.

Although the importance of cutaneous manifestations of SS has been gradually acknowledged in rheumatologists, sudomotor physicians, and post-surgical care, SS diagnosis has not been fully understood and recognized in the diagnosis of SS other than for dermatologists. Compared to pathomechanisms of dry skin seen in SS, we recently reported that reduced sweating function and dry skin seen in atopic dermatitis are mediated by histamine or substance P, and that the dermatitis are often returned to normal levels after treatment of the dermatitis by topical corticosteroid ointment with or without oral anti-histamine. According, xerotic skin lesions seen in SS and AD could be attributed to various pathomechanisms with similar dry skin signs. We will conclude our latest findings into the regulatory mechanism of allergic skin disorders by introducing clinical trials of AD/SS overlap infections as the model of hypoidrotic inflammatory skin diseases in this report.
