Stereotactic body radiotherapy is often used to treat early stage non-small cell lung cancer. Radiation treatment planning is carried out with software packages separate from diagnostic radiology, which are often not available to the diagnostic radiologist. With diagnostic radiology picture archiving and communication systems, we developed a workflow for interfacing radiation dose data from lung SBRT treatments. Two thoracic diagnostic radiologists performing post-treatment diagnostic follow-up scans in PACS, with and without radiation dose maps available, were evaluating the clinical value. The addition of the physically based dose map did not alter the identification rates of radiation-induced lung disease among radiation-induced lung injury survivors, but did not significantly reduce radiologic suspicion for LR. We demonstrated the functionality and clinical use of a workflow that produces simplified radiation dose maps that are viewable within PACS for diagnostic radiology study.

Introduction The aim of this research was to compare and assess diagnostic accuracy of preoperative staging at a multidisciplinary team meeting against the original radiology findings and pathological staging in colorectal cancer patients. The following tables were used to determine collaboration between MDT and the radiology report for cN staging in colon cancer, cT, and cN in rectal cancer, as well as tumor regression grade in patients with rectal cancer who received neoadjuvant therapy. In colon cancer, the agreement between MDT and the radiology report for the cN stage was favorable. According to them, the cT and cN deal in rectal cancer was both efficient and favorable. Pathological staging confirmed there was no difference in diagnostic accuracy between MDT and radiology charts for either colon or rectal cancer. Conclusions Preoperative colorectal cancer local staging was similar between specialist MDT review and original radiology reports, with no significant differences in diagnostic accuracy identified.

Rationale and goals: In a tertiary referral hospital, a COVID-19 pandemic was affecting diagnostic imaging workloads. Materials and methods Radiological examinations of patients in the pre-pandemic period and in the pandemic period were retrospectively included. For each of them, the relative increase in workload was estimated and compared to the 5-year averaged workload in the respective pre-COVID-19 years. According to technology, body district, and care settings, load variations were also measured. In 2020, imaging workload decreased compared to the average of the previous 5 years, according to the previous five years' average, although in 2021 only minor variations were observed. The decrease in workload in all pandemics periods was mainly due to reduced outpatient participation, but inpatient and emergency imaging increased. Conclusion Evaluating imaging workload changes across COVID-19 pandemic helps to understand the response dynamics of radiological services and to increase institutional readiness for face extreme contingency.
