Determination of ultra-trace gold in cosmetics using aluminum-magnesium layered double hydroxide/graphene oxide nanocomposite.

The synthesized nanomaterial allows 100% recovery of AuNPs at pH 1-5 or AuNPs and Au ions at pH 1-2. Gold ions and the corresponding gold nanoparticles can be mixed or separately determined, ensuring that gold ions and the associated gold nanoparticles can be combined or separately determined. Ethnopharmacology for Skin Diseases and Cosmetics during the COVID-19 Pandemic in Lithuania.

This is the first report in Lithuania, dedicated solely to ethnopharmaceuticals used for skin diseases and cosmetics, as well as the first survey to explore ethnopharmacology as a Lithuanian phenomenon during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. During the COVID-19 pandemic from July 2020 to October 2021, the primary aim of this study was to collect and analyze ethnopharmaceutical evidence about skin diseases and cosmetics in iauliai District, Lithuania. The respondents identified 67 species of medicinal plants from 37 different families used for skin diseases, cosmetics, and cosmeceuticals. Only 43 of the 67 plant species were not included in the European Medicines Agency's monographs, and only 14 species of all included species were used with European Medicines Agency approved medical indications for skin diseases.

Applications and Prospects of Nanotechnology in Food and Cosmetics Preservation.

During manufacturing, storage, and transit process, chemical contamination is common among cosmetic and food products that contain water, contributing to product spoilage and degraded organoleptic characteristics. Current preservation techniques are discussed in this report, while the most recent research into nanostructures used for preservation purposes is summarized and analyzed in a way that hopefully provides the most effective solutions for both product safety enhancement and shelf-life extension. Conclusion: Nanomaterial science has already made a contribution to food and cosmetics preservation, and rapid developments in the last year have bolstered the belief that a majority of the preservation efforts pursued by the two industries will be based on NPs and nanocomposites.

An analysis of 275 DIY recipes for eye cosmetics and their possible safety issues.

The aim of this research is therefore to evaluate recipes for eye makeup and makeup removal as well as eyelash and eye contour care products. We gathered recipes for do-it-yourself products from blogs and social media in French and English, then analyzed their composition, as well as how easy it is to make these dishes. The findings show that recipes for eye or periocular use are not safe to use, and that their use is likely to have relatively long-term effects.
