"It Feels Like Taking a Gamble": Exploring Perceptions, Practices, and Challenges of Using Makeup and Cosmetics for People with Visual Impairments

Makeup and cosmetics have the ability for self-expression and the reshaping of social roles for visually impaired people. We present a content review of 145 YouTube videos to reveal visually impaired people's unique habits before, during, and after doing makeup. We then conducted semi-structured interviews with 12 physically impaired people to explore their experiences and concerns with the makeup process in more detail.
