Clinical Characteristics and Associated Factors of Colonic Polyps in Acromegaly.

Purpose: In patients with acromegaly, the aim of this study was to investigate the clinical features and associated factors of colonic polyps. Methods were investigated by reviewing 86 acromegaly patients who underwent surgery, and colonoscopy results and the relationship with growth hormone adenoma volume and hormonal/metabolic levels were retrospectively reviewed, as well as metabolic hormone and metabolic measurements. Conclusions The prevalence of colonic polyps in acromegaly patients was 40. 7% and increased dramatically with age, especially in those u226550 years. Patients with polyps demonstrated higher IGF-1 levels and GHPA levels in patients with polyps showed increasing trends, but the differences were not significant. Patients with polyps of diameter > 5 mm were more affected than those with polyps of diameter > 5 mm compared to those with polyps diameter u22645 mm. Patients in acromegaly patients were not liable for predicting the risk of colonic polyp occurrence in acromegaly patients, according to the univariate and multivariate logistic regression study.
