The aim of the investigation was to supplement the existing research on the Al 65 Cr 20 Fe 15 alloy with binary phase granular structure and the Al 71 Cr 24 Fe 5 alloy with multiphase structure prepared with two different cooling rates from the liquid state. For the Al 65 Cr 20 Fe 15 alloy, a lower friction coefficient was found compared to the Al 71 Cr 24 Fe 5 multiphase alloy based on pin-on-disc measurements. The average hardness of the binary phase Al 65 Cr 20 Fe 5 alloy and the single phase Al-Cr-Fe alloys described in the literature were higher than those of the multiphase Al 71 Cr 24 Fe 5 alloy and the single phase Al-Cr-Fe alloys described in the literature. The alloys Al 65 Cr 20 Fe 15 Fe 15 and Al 71 Cr 24 Fe 5 Fe 5 demonstrated paramagnetic behavior, but a solidified Al 71 Cr 24 Fe 5 alloy indicated an increase in magnetic properties.

Microstructure and Properties of a Graphene Reinforced Cu–Cr–Mg Composite

As raw materials in the manufacture of a layered graphene/CuCu2013Mg composite by high-energy ball-milling and quick hot-press sintering, Cui2013Mg alloy powder and graphene nanosheets have been used to enhance the graphene/copper interfacial bonding and the durability of the copper matrix. The results indicate that the tensile strength of the composite material reached a value of 349 MPa, which is 46% higher than that of the copper matrix, and that graphene reinforcement efficiency reached 136.
