Abstract The present paper is concentrated on the optimization of the overlap size in different kinds of distributors in hydraulic systems. The objective of the here and now research study is to generalize the modelling of the overlap length to different types of suppliers and to determine the important size at cavitation inception. The outcomes reveal that the pressure losses in turning suppliers and in various other sorts of distributors are similar, including the slide-valves that are the vast bulk of representatives in hydraulic systems. It is verified that the overlap size has a stronger impact on the cavitation advancement than the distributor rotation rate. Short article Highlights The pressure losses in a rotating distributor and in a slide-valve can be shared. The overlap size has a huge influence on the cavitation advancement, much larger than the rotation speed.
