Cavitation erosion is a common failure mode for hydraulic turbine components. A high-velocity oxygen fuel was applied to create CeO2-modified dual-scale WC-10Co-4Cr coatings, dual-scale WC-10Co-4Cr coatings, and micrometer WC-10Cr coatings. The coatings had the highest WC retention rate, according to the study, the CeO2-modified WC-10Co-4Cr coatings could effectively reduce decarburization in the powder preparation and HVOF processes. Both C-coatings had greater fracture strength and hardness than the D-coatings by more than 8. 6 percent and 3. 3 percent, respectively.
