Novel mono, di, and tetra cationic surfactant molecules were synthesized by quaternization reaction of diamide with cetyl-2-chloroacetate in a 1:1, 1:2, and 1:4. FTIR and 1HNMR revealed the synthetic compounds' chemical structures. Using chemical and electrochemical analysis, synthetic cationic surfactants were tested as corrosion inhibitors for carbon steel in 1. 0 M HCl solutions. The results revealed that the cationic surfactants successfully blocked CSt deposition in the test corrosion medium, with a maximum reduction ratio of 96. 08%.
