A tandem hollow cathode discharge, which is derived from two separate discharges in a series, is a common technique used to raise the irradiance of a hollow cathode discharge. To obtain the configuration of anode/insulator/anode/anode from the top to the bottom, we used a five-layer tandem hollow cathode discharge based on a two-dimensional fluid model. Lastly, the findings reveal that the paralleled hollow cathode discharges can be converted into a single discharge with a higher plasma density by monotonous control of gas pressure.
