Purpose: To investigate the effects of Gonioscopy-assisted transluminal trabeculotomy on macular thickness and to compare the combined GATT and cataract extraction with GATT surgery alone regarding macular thickness, see macular thickness. The patients who underwent GATT or mixed GATT and CE with preoperative and routine postoperative spectral domain optic coherence tomography analysis were included. Both group 1 and two separate groups were defined as follows: group 1 enrolled patients who underwent GATT alone, and group 2 enrolled patients who underwent combined GATT and CE. Measures of macular thickness were determined by performing intragroup analysis and comparing group 1 with group 2 in terms of change in macular thickness change. The mean thicknesses of central macula, superior inner macula, and nasal inner macula had significantly increased 1 month after GATT alone. At any time point, there was no significant difference between group 1 and group 2 in terms of change in macular thickness at both time points.
