Ocular Clarity After Cataract Surgery With Two Different Phacoemulsification Systems

The lens is surgically extracted after which a clear artificial intraocular lens is implanted. For patients, it is vital that they recover functional vision as soon as possible after surgery, as a lack of vision could increase the risk of falling and increases the reliance on others. The used pump model, the way the needle oscillates, and the fluid dynamics of the system are all factors that influence phacoemulsification methods.

A Clinical Investigation of an Autonomous Phone Conversational Agent for Cataract Surgery Follow-up

Aims and Objectives This report is intended to determine the accuracy, usability, and acceptability of DORA, an AI-enable autonomous medical service that is used to detect post-operative cataract surgery patients who need further investigation. The study's goals are: to determine the effectiveness of DORA's decision making in comparison to an experienced human clinician; baseline sensitivity and specificity for detection of real infections; analysis of patient acceptability; and data that can support future research are among the study's objectives. The interdisciplinary research, based on implementation science, will be a multi-methods phase one pilot establishing inter-observer reliability, usability, and acceptability. Anticipated Impact and Dissemination The project's most significant findings will be data on artificial intelligence voice conversation agent performance, as well as associated usability and acceptability.

Comparison of Minimal Invasive Lens Surgery and Traditional Cataract Surgery for Treating Congenital Cataracts

The participants are grouped into two groups: Group I: the participants receive a minimally invasive lens surgery, while Group II: the participants are subjected to a traditional cataract surgery. Both Group I and Group II use second intraocular lens implantation as the patient is two years old.

Pragmatic Trial of an Electronic Health Record/Behavioral Economics Intervention to Reduce Pre-Operative Testing for Cataract Surgery

The American Academy of Ophthalmology suggested that eliminating routine pre-op testing for cataract surgery as part of the Choosing Wiselyu2122 campaign because pre-op testing provides no benefit to patients. With cataract surgery being the most common medical procedure among Medicare beneficiaries, widespread reduction of routine pre-op testing for cataract surgery can save money, minimize exposure to unnecessary and potentially harmful tests, and enable millions of seniors to spend more time enjoying life rather than seeking unnecessary health care. The investigators speculate that an interdisciplinary electronic health record-based intervention that incorporates behavioral economics principles would dramatically reduce pre-op testing for cataract surgery in a real-world clinical setting. Nudge 1: UCLA Ophthalmologists and Anesthesiologists ADVISE AGAINST routine pre-op testing will be included in the pragmatic trial to achieve the desired decrease in low value care. We'll compare the percentage of patients receiving pre-op testing in the pooled nudge arms to the normal care arm and determine each individual's nudge arm's effectiveness to see whether certain behavioral diagnostic framing techniques are more beneficial than others in reducing pre-op testing. Patient outcomes and satisfaction can be improved patient outcomes and value by reducing patient exposure to unnecessary services. This proposed pragmatic trial will set new ground in our understanding of how behavioral economics tools can be used to stymie care that does not promote improved patient outcomes.

Validity and Effectiveness of a Virtual Reality Simulator for Manual Small Incision Cataract Surgery: The Orbis-FundamentalVR MSICS Simulator.

Desai Eye Hospital, Pune, India The First Central Hospital in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia Shenyang He Eye Specialist Hospital, China, China. According to the inclusion and exclusion criteria, prospective trainees from all 9 training institutions between January and December of 2021 will be selected according to the inclusion and exclusion criteria. Trainee participants will be notified in detail about the content of the education intervention study, that the training offered has no formal qualification and will not be included in their annual clinical training study. The number of MSICS surgeries performed as primary surgeon will be pseudo-anonymized and securely stored, and can also be used in data analysis. Baseline Data Resident Trainees is a publication that publishes research. Visual Function and Patient Satisfaction in Glaucoma or Ocular Hypertensive Patients Undergoing Simultaneous Cataract Surgery and i-Stent Implantation

The Viola IOL, the Vity IOL, was released in this research's aim to reveal in depth, patient satisfaction, and spectacle correction in patients with glaucoma and ocular hypertension undergoing cataract surgery with extended depth of focus. The study also looks to determine if there are any differences in the speed of visual improvement between patients undergoing isolated cataract surgery and those undergoing simultaneous i-Stent implantation. With a group of patients with no ocular pathology undergoing cataract surgery with Vivity implantation, the outcomes will also be compared. Patients will be invited to participate in the research after the ophthalmologist and patient have agreed on the type of surgery and the type of lens implanted have been agreed on by both ophthalmologist and patient.

Observational Multicenter Registry to Assess the Enefits of Active Sentry Handpiece During Cataract Surgery With the Centurion Phacoemulsifier (SASCA)

According to the use of an IOP based phacoemulsification system in conjunction with the use of an Intrepid balanced tip, a decrease in CDE Cumulated Energy and EFU can be reduced. The Hybrid tips have been created to prevent posterior capsule leakage in the event of direct contact with the capsule. Due to the surge effects decrease, cataract surgeries with Active Sentry will need less CDE and therefore may be safer. According to the WHO nuclear grading suggestion, Centurion with AS was able to optimize settings: maximum vacuum and UltraSound time reduction, as a result, a 20 to 30% CDE decrease.

Impact of Music Added to the Usual Treatment on the Anxiety of Patients Undergoing Outpatient Cataract Surgery With Topical Anesthesia: Randomized Controlled Trial

A short outpatient course with topical anesthesia is a good choice for cataract surgery patients. Often being in a waiting room with other patients can increase this anxiety. Patient anxiety can rise blood pressure, potentially leading to the prescription of nicardipine, which may cause surgery to be performed. Nurses have few choices for patients with anxiety outside of anxiolytics' use. Multiple studies have been published on the effects of music on preoperative anxiety, which has resulted in a significant reduction in anxiety before surgery. MusicCareU00ae is a digital therapy'" based on hypnoanalgesia's principles, and has been proven to be safe in the treatment of patients with a variety of pathologies and has shown relative success. We would like to investigate the effect of offering the MusicCare u00ae listening device on patients' fears of absence in the context of cataract surgery with topical anesthesia.
