Oxidized SWCNT and MWCNT as co-catalysts of polymeric carbon nitride for photocatalytic hydrogen evolution

Polymeric carbon nitride has been discovered as an encouraging photocatalyst for hydrogen development from water splitting. In this contribution, we compare the impact of oxidation and the number of wall surfaces in carbon nanotubes on the photocatalytic efficiency of PCN. It was found that oxidation of both types of CNT improved a photocurrent response, interfacial cost transfer and splitting up properties causing the improved hydrogen evolution rate. Remarkably, MWCNT were found to improve the fee transfer and splitting up properties a lot more dramatically. SWCNT impact ~ 12-fold rise in H 2 development rate, while MWCNT affected ~ 8-fold enhancement in contrast to excellent PCN.
