Since urban land use efficiency bridges urbanization and economic growth, while ecological carrying capacity is the key natural endowments support, the coupling coordination degree between ULUE and ECC represents a combination of resource-intensive and environmentally friendly, and may be a helpful device to measure sustainable growth. We develop an integrated coupling coordination analysis framework that incorporates temporal and spatial characteristics, pattern detection, and interaction metrics by incorporating the coupling coordination model and relative development index to synthesize the current scattered research directions into a logically unified framework and serve as a guide for future coupling research. This paper also outlines a sophisticated multi-stage coupling system that corresponds to various stages of urban growth, resulting in urban sustainable development spiral upward trend.

Evaluating the human capacity of carrying loads without costs: A scoping review of the Free-Ride phenomenon.

Several researchers have obtained contradictory results from a study that investigated the human capability to move loads without additional locomotion costs. Method of Study SCOPUS, Google Scholar, and Web of Science to find studies comparing the energy consumption of loaded and unloaded locomotion in November 2021. With the samples obtained from each study, descriptive percentages were calculated, and a Chi-squared independency test and a contingency table were used to see the correlation between sample characteristics, experimental techniques, and the detection of the Free-Ride. Conclusions The literature does not support a Free-Ride capacity, but future research investigating this phenomenon might include the load size, the load position, the level of experience, or the speed. As the Free-Ride is not universally available, it can be speculated that other mechanisms may have evolved during human evolution to reduce load carrying's neodynamic demands.

Spatiotemporal Heterogeneity and Driving Factors of Water Resource and Environment Carrying Capacity under High-Quality Economic Development in China.

Rapid economic growth and social growth in China have resulted in serious water pollution issues and water resource shortages, limiting the sustainable growth that could benefit both the socioeconomic and water resources carrying capacity. Approximately 77% of provinces remain in an overburdened state, meaning that most provinces' support indicator is smaller than the pressure indicator used by human social services. With the greatest degree of regional variation, Eastern regions have a medium-level of WRECC, while western regions have a high-level of WRECC with the smallest degree of regional variation. While the other four variables have different influences on the WRECC, the WRECC's positive impacts are boosted by the fact that R&D and R&D investments positively impact the WRECC. These findings reveal a comprehensive review of the latest WRECC in China's provinces, which can be used as a starting point for implementing environmentally sustainable water development policies under high-quality economic growth.

Territorial Pattern Evolution and Its Comprehensive Carrying Capacity Evaluation in the Coastal Area of Beibu Gulf, China.

Accordingly, it is important to investigate the ecological response in the process of territorial space transitions in the Beibu Gulf to encourage the coordination between sea and land as well as sustainable regional development. This paper used remote sensing image processing to create land-use maps in 2000, 2010, and 2020, and then analyzed the spatial and temporal evolution of the Beibu Gulf's territorial pattern from 2000 to 2020. The results revealed that the demand for urban growth and ecological protection had increased between 2000 and 2020, respectively, by 386. 71% and 25. 5 percent, respectively, and reduced farmland by 28. 3 percent. This paper investigated the current state of natural resources, socioeconomic and economic growth in coastal areas, dividing the study area into four categories: developed areas, priority development areas, and coastal reserve areas; and accompanying control recommendations.
