OBJECT Carotid angioplasty and stenting has emerged as an alternative to carotid endarterectomy for the treatment of atherosclerotic carotid stenosis. Using CT angiography, we were able to determine whether preprocedural carotid plaque imaging at the site of maximum stenosis could help predict the long-term morphological results of primary carotid stenting. To determine the circumferential degree of plaque calcification, as well as the presence or absence of soft plaque, a morphological scale was used. A peak systolic rate of 120 cm/s and internal carotid artery/common carotid artery ratio 1. 4 was determined as a peak systolic rate of 120 cm/s and a common carotid artery/common carotid artery ratio 1. 4. CONCLUSIONS The long-term morphological characterization of primary carotid stenting was predicted with skepticism by using a simple CTA carotid plaque grading scale.
