Evaluation of Caries Prevention Based on Genetic Etiology and Risk: Protocol for a Multicenter Randomized Controlled and Adaptive Trial for Oral Personalized Care (PRECARIES)

A prescreen of 2000 adolescents, of whom 520 will be included in the RCT study section, with adolescents undergoing normal orthodontic care with multibrackets at the Public Dental Service, including multibrackets. The children are divided into two risk groups, those who are genetically impaired and non-susceptible children who are randomized to intensive or traditional standard prevention. Clinical outcomes will be adjusted at various time points as caries lesions develops on various teeth and surfaces, including tactile, visual and X-ray bitewing, scientific photographs, and quantitative laser fluorescence. Compatiblely, human and microbiota geneo-and protein typing works with both in and out house platforms.
