Children and young people's mental health in the English-speaking Caribbean: a scoping review and evidence map.

A wealth of study shows that many children and young adults suffer with mental health problems. This scoping report sought to add to the body of evidence by giving an overview of the available research data on children and young people's mental health in the English-speaking Caribbean region. Before January 2021, seven key online academic databases and gray literature sources were searched until January 2021. Most of the studies were conducted in Jamaica, Trinidad and Tobago, Barbados, and Barbados, although less research reported results from St Lucia, Trinidad and Tobago, St Kitts and Nevis found in Jamaica, Trinidad, Tobago, and Barbados, although less research was published on St Lucia, Trinidad, and Nevis. Four unique approaches were found, of which one intervention had no positive impact on CYP. Only the Jamaican Youth Checklist, Beck Depression Inventory-II, Brief Screen for Depression, Trinidad and Tobago Youth Survey, and the Minnesota Multiphasic Personality Inventory were among the commonly used outcome measures.
