Mathematical Model of Preparing Process of Bulk Cargo for Transportation by Vessel

Among the bulk cargoes transported by vessel, it has been determined that wheat grain has the largest amount of bulk cargo. Pre-drying the grain at the port facilities increases the likelihood of safe transportation of grain in bulk, which is mainly dependent on the grain's condition at the time of loading. In this research, a continuous numerical model of the grain drying process is developed based on heat and mass transfer equations, making it possible to predict grain moisture changes considering the influence of grain moisture's thermophysical and thermodynamic characteristics. Based on a continuous mathematical model, a discretized mathematical model using the finite difference technique was developed, as well as a simulation of the drying process in the state space using the linearization technique was implemented in Mathcad. How to Reduce Emissions in Maritime Ports? An Overview of Cargo Handling Innovations and Port Services

The aim of the report is to demonstrate a variety of technologies and innovations within the terminal and administrative side of a maritime port that lead to emissions reductions. A literature review is conducted to examine port operations in six areas: berth, quay, transportation, yard, gate, and port administrative. In the port area, the aim is to provide an overview of cargo handling services and related innovations that contribute to the reduction of harmful environmental pollution. Consequently, these aspects of port strategic growth contribute to a positive environmental impact, which, in perspective, may include the conversion of ports into urban-friendly locations. The study may be of concern to port authorities, local municipalities, and a wider audience interested in getting to know port facilities in a more comprehensive manner.

Chronic delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) treatment counteracts SIV-induced modulation of proinflammatory microRNA cargo in basal ganglia-derived extracellular vesicles

Although the basal ganglia is a key target and source of HIV in the CNS, whether BG produces EVs and/or the phytocannabinoid derivative, u2013delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol's effects on BG-EVs and HIV neuropathogenesis are unknown, both HIV and/or the phytocannabinoid are unknown. Methods We used the simian immunodeficiency virus (SIV and THC) in rhesus macaques to demonstrate for the first time that BG has EVs, and that BG-EVs cargo and function are controlled by SIV and THC for the first time. To investigate the role of BG-EVs in CNS cells, we used primary astrocytes from wild type and CX3CR1+/GFP mice. SIV infection and THC therapy were among the BG-EV-associated miRNA that was linked to SIV infection and THC therapy. In primary mouse astrocytes, BG-EVs stimulated WT and CX3CR1+/GFP astrocytes and altered the expression of CD40, TNF, MMP-2, and MMP-2 gene products in a EV and CX3CR1 dependent manners, as well as CX3CR1 and MMP-2 gene products.

Through this research, we show that the actin cytoskeleton plays a vital role in mRNA delivery via silicon nanotubes. In comparison to that of untreated controls, actin inhibition 12 h before SiNT-cellular interfacing significantly dampens mRNA delivery into mouse fibroblast GPE86 cells. However, actin inhibition initiated 2 h after the establishment of GPE86 cell'u2013SiNT interface has negligible effect on mRNA transfection, while maintaining > 80% for both Cyto D and Jas treatment groups, although maintaining > 80% effectiveness.

Uncertainty-bounded reinforcement learning for revenue optimization in air cargo: a prescriptive learning approach

We suggest a prescriptive learning strategy for revenue management in air-cargoo that incorporates machine learning prediction with decision making using deep reinforcement learning. In the proposed strategy, booking functions and extracted obscured missing data are exploited to give a forecast on the received volume, while a DQN approach using uncertainty bounds from the prediction intervals is suggested for decision making. We've established the benefits of RL-Cargo using a real database of 1000 flights to compare classical Dynamic Programming and Deep Reinforcement Learning methods on offloading costs and revenue generation. Our findings show that prescriptive learning that incorporates prediction and decision making constitutes a fundamentally based approach to managing the air cargo revenue ecosystem. In addition, the suggested strategy can be extended to several other application domains where decision making must be carried out in face of both information and behavioral uncertainty.
