Medical interpreters play a significant role in bridging the language gap in health care and lowering health in minority language groups. A career academy in central Ohio has a medical interpreter for the Spanish Heritage Language speakers program. The aim of this initiative includes addressing language acquisition in central Ohio while still valuing HL learners' linguistic assets, confirming their linguistic capabilities, and ensuring career and academic achievement for them. We show that participation in the IMPACT program positively influences student language proficiency, language skills, and career decision self-efficacy using a variety of techniques, such as interviews, quantitative measures of career decision, and academic results.
