Identification of predictors of drug sensitivity using patient-derived models of esophageal squamous cell carcinoma

Abstract: To find drug sensitivity biomarkers, researchers from the Cancer Cell Line Encyclopedia project have used commercial pan-cancer cell line models. However, drug-sensitivity biomarkers in esophageal squamous cell carcinoma have not been widely studied. From 123 patients with ESCC, eight patient-derived cell lines are successfully established here. PDCs can partially recapture the tumor tissue actionable mutations present in 161 patients with ESCC, thanks to PDC genetic analysis. Both PDC xenografts and patient-derived xenografts have reported CDKN2A/2B loss as a biomarker sensitive to CDK4/6 inhibitor sensitivity.

NOTCH2 negatively regulates metastasis and epithelial-Mesenchymal transition via TRAF6/AKT in nasopharyngeal carcinoma

Abstract Background The primary problem in nasopharyngeal carcinoma remains, however, is remote metastasis following primary therapy. In NPC, a tumor promotor that promotes angiogenesis, tumor formation, and metastasis has been shown to work as a tumor promotor. Patient with cervical lymph node metastasis in the NPC tissues of patients with cervical lymph node metastasis had a lower incidence than that of patients with cervical lymph node metastasis. The NOTCH2 expression in patients with NPC correlated negatively with survival time. NPC cell metastasis was promoted by suppression of NOTCH2 expression in NPC cells, but NOTCH2 inhibitions slowed this process. In addition, NOTCH2 attenuated the TRAF6u2013AKT signaling axis by an interaction between the NOTCH2 intracellular domain and TRAF6, which prevented epithelialu2013mesenchymal transition and finally reduced NPC metastasis. Conclusions These results show that loss of NOTCH2 drives the TRAF6/AKT axis and promotes metastasis in NPC, as well as NPC metastasis, indicating that NOTCH2 may be a therapeutic target for NPC therapy.

LncRNA WT1-AS up-regulates p53 to inhibit the proliferation of cervical squamous carcinoma cells

Background Information It has been reported that the formation of cervical squamous cell carcinoma necessitates the involvement of a substantial number of lncRNAs. WT1-AS has been characterized as a tumor-suppressive lncRNA in gastric cancer in a recent review of lncRNA. Outcome of urethral stent placement for management of urethral obstruction secondary to transitional cell carcinoma in dogs: 19 cases (2007–2010)

Diaphragmatic weakness after transcatheter arterial chemoembolization of the right inferior phrenic artery for treatment of hepatocellular carcinoma: a comparison of outcomes after N-butyl cyanoacrylate versus gelatin sponge embolization

After a mean time of 3. 5 months, Five patients in the NBCA group and 11 in the gelatin sponge group all showed spontaneous recovery of diaphragmatic weakness. After the initial follow-up visit from the gelatin sponge group due to repeated TACE of the right IPA, the right IPA emerged, but the condition soon developed in one patient from the NBCA group without additional TACE procedures.
