Structural steel products are common in several metal industries. With varying heat input, a stainless steel electrode of a metal active gas welding-based cladding is achieved in this experiment. The test samples were tested in C scale by a Rockwell hardness testing unit in three different zones of the test samples. To determine clad bead geometry, factors such as welding current, open-circuit voltage, and torch travel speed are taken. In addition, Pitting corrosion tests were also carried out on the clad surface under chloride medium to find that increasing heat consumption leads to more corrosion.
