Analysis of Tube-to-Tubesheet Welding in Carbon Steel Heat Exchangers of a Double Plate Header Box

The parallelism deviations previously found in two double-plate header boxes of air-cooled heat exchangers in two separate preheating temperatures are reproduced in two separate tub to tubesheet coupons, which were also tested in two double-plate header boxes of air-cooled heat exchangers using two different preheating temperatures. In order to determine the weld penetration and length of the weld leg in tube-to-tubesheet joints, a macroscopic analysis is carried out.
