Corrosion Inhibition Performance of an Ionic Liquid for Carbon Steel in chloride Solutions: Adsorption, Thermodynamic, and Quantum Chemical Investigations

In 3. 5 NaCl solutions, corrosion inhibition was demonstrated by the corroding resistance of the ionic liquid 1-butyl-3-methyl sulfonate for carbon steel. The findings revealed that [BMIm]TfO is a promising corrosion inhibitor, and inhibition efficiency increases as the concentration rises. Using polarization results, Reliance of the corrosion influence on the temperature in the presence and absence of [BMIm]TfO was shown in the temperature range of 303-333 K using polarization data. Using a quantum chemical study, the observed inhibition results of [BMIm]TfO was correlated with the ionic liquid's electronic characteristics.

Insight into the corrosion inhibition of Biebersteinia multifida root extract for carbon steel in acidic medium.

The protective effect of Bieberstein multifida root extract against corrosion of 1018 low carbon steel in HCl solutions was evaluated by assessing weight loss, electrochemical impedance spectroscopy, and polarization at 25 °C in this research. The extraction of acidic solutions has been shown to act as a mixed corrosion inhibitor in polarization experiments, according to polarization experiments. The degradation inhibitory capacity of BMRE decreased with increasing temperature, and at all temperature settings investigated, BMRE molecules adsorption on 1018 LCS was stable with the Langmuir adsorption isotherm.

One-Pot Hydrothermal Synthesized Nitrogen and Sulfur Codoped Carbon Dots for Acid Corrosion Inhibition of Q235 Steel.

The as-synthesized CDs were a slew of polar functional groups less than ten nm in length. The results published are useful in the development of more effective acid pickling corrosion inhibitors for longer than 72 h. The long-term weight loss experiments up to 72 hours showed the excellent corrosion inhibition at room temperature and 313 K.
