"In this paper, we use extensive cross-country survey results from 15 European countries over the period 2000-2013 to explore the relationship between the immediate boss's gender and workplace misdoing. " We show that a female boss is linked to reduced gender discrimination, with positive spillovers mainly on female subordinates, in occupations where female presence is still high and work structure is more complex.
