Gingival Crevicular Blood as a Diagnostic aid for the Detection of Diabetes Mellitus: an in-Office Chairside Test in Dental Practice

Most diabetic patients are undiagnosed in their early stages of the disease because of the patients' unnoticeable signs, which may lead to extensive body system damage, so an early diagnosis is extremely critical and life saving indiabetic patients. Aim: The aim of the current research is to determine the use of gingival crevicular blood as a diagnostic tool in diabetic patients. Periodontal pocket depth probing is included in a routine dental check-up, as well as periodontal pocket depth testing. Blood glucose level and venous blood [VB] glucose determination were determined with a standardized laboratory technique, to the same patient finger stick.

Changes in nerve root motion and intraradicular blood flow during intraoperative femoral nerve stretch test

Changes in intraradicular blood flow occur during the femoral nerve stretch test in patients with lumbar disc herniation are unknown. Four patients with L3u20134 disc herniation who underwent microdiscectomy were included in the study. Patients were rushed to prone before surgery so that their knee flexed on the operating table with the hip joint elevated in hypertension, and the FNST was administered to determine which region pain developed in the anterolateral thigh. During the intraoperative FNST, the needle sensor of a laser Doppler flowmeter was then introduced into each nerve root immediately above the hernia, and the increase in IRBF was confirmed. In vivo, this research found that the blood flow in the nerve root is reduced when the nerve root is compressed.
