Analysis of port-wine birthmark vascular characteristics by location: Utility of optical coherence tomography mapping.

Previous studies have shown that the location of PWB lesions may have an effect on their medical reaction to laser therapy. Aims In vivo vessel diameter, height, and superficial plexus depth in patients of all ages with PWB were determined on various body sites. Patients with a PWB and presented to a clinic at three locations for pulsed dye laser therapy were accepted into the trial, according to the study's participants. The depth of the superficial vascular plexus's top portion was estimated as the maximum thickness at which the vessel density exceeds 50% of the maximum. PWB lesions have distinctive vascular characteristics, which can be attributed to their body position. Lesions on the head had significantly denser vessels than those on the trunk and upper extremities.
